Product Description
From the fifties to his death in 2009, it is a complete record of Michael's moves, grooves and music. Illustrated with hundreds of colour and black and white photographs, it includes all Michael's records, concerts, videos and awards, memorabilia and records you never knew existed. From Steeltown to Motown, from the Jackson 5 to his own man, from "The Wiz" to "Thriller", Michael Jackson was bad, smooth, dangerous and invincible. He made the most exciting videos, with the deffest moves, played the most spectacular concerts, and filled the world's largest arenas. He began performing at the age of five, broke records since he was 11 and was a star without equal from the age of 21. Never far from the media spotlight Michael's whole aura often seemed alienated from reality. "The Visual Documentary" presents all the facts about Michael's life and death as never before. Here is everything you need to know about the tragic superstar. "Michael Jackson - The Visual Documentary" has been compiled by Adrian Grant, a writer renowned fort his close affiliation with Jackson and a pioneer of many Jackson related projects including the stage musical "Thriller".

5 out of 5 stars One of the most descriptive books on the king of pop   July 15, 2010
Jason Weber
When I first checked this book out, I just expected it to be mostly pictures with brief summaries of what he did each year, his discography, and maybe some interviews with him and people he was associated with. I had no idea it would be so detailed and in depth, along with tons of nice pictures and a detailed family tree. This book starts off with an introduction to Michael, as well as some family information and a family tree, although it doesn't state when his grandparents or anyone higher up on the tree were born. Then we go into very detailed dates of each year from his early Jackson 5 years, to his funeral service. It lists every single date from album releases, to interview dates, to dates he was spotted in public, to even dates of when other people made statements about Jackson. Movie releases about him, literally everything you can think of. Along with this it has pictures on the side of Michael during the year that is being described. It lists all his albums on the sides and goes through all the songs on the album. Its really like a storybook on Michael Jackson's life telling where he was on what date, what he was doing. After going through the 50 year journey, of over 100 pages, we are given a complete discography on all his albums, singles, and even DVD and movie release years that were made based on him or about him. My only thing I wish would have been included was a detailed list of all his songs with the year each was released and what number it hit on each chart, but I suppose there are other Jackson books that give this. I simply love this book and it is one of the best books on Jackson out there. If you are looking more about Jackson's personal life and relationships about him and different people this might not be the book, because this book is mainly just solid facts on what Jackson did and said during big interviews, but if you want to have a detailed timeline of Michael Jacksons life, this is the best book.
