Product Description
A consummate insider as the girlfriend of Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist, Carol Ann Harris leads fans into the very heart of the band’s storms between 1976 and 1984. From interactions between the band and other stars—Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, and Dennis Wilson—to the chaotic animosity between band members, this memoir combines the sensational account of some of the world’s most famous musicians with a thrilling love story. The parties, fights, drug use, shenanigans, and sex lives of Fleetwood Mac are presented in intimate detail and illustrated with never-before-seen photographs. With the exception of one brief interview, Carol Ann Harris has never before spoken about her time with Fleetwood Mac.

5 out of 5 stars Thank you for the honesty!   September 8, 2010

Carol Ann Harris gives a wonderful account of "her" experience with Lindsay Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac. Her memory of the events are stated in the book that she was a note/diary keeper of her time with Lindsay. I think of how difficult it was for her to relive the traumatic events and put on paper the truth of such a famous person and band. Often, we as a society hold famous individuals up on a pedestal. Knowingly, regardless of fame, famous people are individuals first. They are flawed human beings just as we all are and I think its sad that we have held famous people up as the idols. I thank Carol Ann for her honesty and courage to take her personal experience and allow others to see her pain. This is human. Thank you for normalizing fame. The book was simply wonderful! I couldn't put it down. -Rosebud

I thought this book was a real page turner. I know a lot of people are critical of Harris for writing about her experiences with the band, but I'm not. It was a thousand years ago! Who cares? Why not talk about such an amazing experience? Especially since she has never really talked about it. I'm assuming it's due to the not so flattering light in which the band is shown (particularly Lindsey and Stevie), but I thought it seemed real and pretty honest. I'm basing this on other stories that have been told about the two of them from other sources from their past and present..band members, friends, etc. Nothing that Carol Ann wrote about was surprising and seemed to fit with all the other info that I already knew.

I liked her writing style and I thought it was a real page turner. She made me feel like I was living the experience right with her. Although I would love to believe that Stevie and Lindsey are the ever so wonderful artists of pure rock stardom and fantasy that I want them to be, they are just people...and their human flaws are exposed here. Not only that..I actually thought she was quite kind to Stevie in particular. Stevie was not very kind...and Carol Ann gave her props for being the rock goddess that she is. She didn't have to do that. She was also more kind to Lindsey than he deserved. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is fascinated with this incarnation of the band.

I'm a huge FM fan and I just finished Storms. I was hooked into the drama and backstage stories about the band at first. At first I felt bad for Carol but after awhile I go to thinking that no one can remember word from word exchanges over 20 years ago. Plus recalling them when most of the time you are under the influence. Her innocent act was too much to bear after awhile. Of course its her side of the story and I am sure some things really happened. But I remember some magazine interviews from the band and the story about how she was at the Rolling Stone photoshoot at Lindsey's house seemed odd to me. Then I remembered watching VH1 and Lindsey saying that after The shoot was done and everyone else got out of the bed except for Stevie and him. They laid there for about an hour hugging and it was freaked everybody out. How can that happened if his gf Carol is in the other room and her not take notice of that..or notice that they still had something going on for years. Its public knowledge that they did, even Stevie said so in another interview. I felt like he tried to create another Stevie but his version of her but at the same time he loved the drama with Stevie. Carol didnt give him drama, she was easy to be told what to do and what to wear. Very abusive behavior yes but deep down he always loved Stevie more. So with the drugs and the drama and divorce of that relationship...your world is going to spin out of control. I'm just guessing here but I dont think carol was a complete angel as she seems to lead us to believe. She didnt deserve the abuse but she lacks so much awareness its not even funny. Overall a good read of you want to know the inside to FM drama but her story not.
